Huggins Family

The DCC Elders are please to present Steve Huggins as a DCC Elder Candidate.

Steve grew up as a missionary kid with his parents being missionaries to the American Indians in California and Montana.  From his childhood, he heard the gospel presented and accepted Christ as his Savior as a young child.  Upon graduating from high school, he spent four years in the Marine Corps.  He then completed his undergraduate studies in psychology at Cedarville University.   While at Cedarville, he met his wife, Terri; they were married shortly after graduation and then moved to Portland where Steve completed his graduate studies in Clinical Psychology at Western Seminary.  Steve has been a Clinical Psychologist in private practice since 1989.

Steve and Terri have been attending DCC for over 30 years and, during that time, have served individually and together in many of the church’s ministries.  They currently lead the Destination Community Group on Sunday mornings.  Steve also serves with Servant Wings where he is a board member and flight instructor, training men and women interested in becoming missionary pilots.

Steve and Terri have been married for 40 years and live nearby in Eagle Creek.  They have two grown, married daughters, Erin & Michelle, both of whom are DCS graduates.  Steve enjoys God’s creation through outdoor activities, including hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, and flying.  Terri currently is employed by MESD as a Behavior Support Facilitator at Knott Creek School.  At home, she enjoys running, reading, and being a grandma to their seven, soon to be eight, grandkids.

Per the DCC Constitution, the next 4 weeks will be a time for review and evaluation of Steve's candidacy. Please take this time to get to know Steve, ask him questions, and express any support or concerns you might have.  Contact the church office or fill out a Communication Card to get in touch with Steve.

If you have any questions about the process, or if you would like to give input to the Elder Council, please contact us at elders@damascuscc.org.

Thank you.
